Museo del Oro in Bogota is filled with artifacts, mainly of gold, from the pre-Columbian era.

Jewelry. The shadow indicates where the ornamenation was worn. Friar Pedro Simon wrote in 1623: "No indian or woman was without...jewels, necklaces, crowns, rings for the lower lip...fine, well-cut gems, string or beads. All the girls had four or six gold jewels aroun their neck..." (Caption accompanying this display in the museum). |
